How was your experience?
The musicianship on stage was of course impressive, with the vocal and musical stylings of Mr. Miller perfectly complementing the lady folksters on Wednesday night. My only gripes are frankly with the venue itself, which has been much better managed in its past ... the Greek Theatre is my favorite music venue in Southern California, and I have attended dozens of shows there over the years. The pre-show sound check should have allowed for Ms. Harris' much stronger (louder) voice, though, and corrected accordingly for the complementing vocals. The "closeup" shots on the big screens on either side of the stage were absolutely useless, as it appeared that only one cameraman showed up for work that evening. The one shot that appeared for most of the evening was that of a static group shot, with no closeups of performances whatsoever ... a wasted visual opportunity indeed. Better luck next time, Nederlander-Aramark-MCA? BTW, real $15 frozen margaritas don't need to glow in the dark ;-). You might want to tweak the slush machine a bit, if you're not going to allow concertgoers to bring their own beverages with them a la the Hollywood Bowl.
