How was your experience?
I too will skip the play review, as the story is so common. I will say that I enjoyed the subtle layer added to the conversation by making Juror 10 an African American person. It adds to the bigotry of the man, and I thought the actor who played him did a fine job (he did scare me a little, though!) The story does follow the story of the movie closer than the original publication - so Juror 7 is a baseball aficionado, Juror 1 is a sensitive man, Juror 2 is a bank clerk, etc. I was impressed with the set design and my husband and I both noticed the really cool running water effects. Very well done. There were a couple blips here and there but overall, I thought this was a great job for a first preview and very well acted. And there are so many actors in it new to the Raven! It definitely follows in the high standards set by Hedda Gabbler and Death of a Salesman.
