How was your experience?
Okay, let me start by saying, local theater can be hit & miss. This one is definitely a miss. Maybe my expectations were too high, I saw a play/musical based on Hank Williams life about 3 years ago at the Laguna Playhouse that was excellent & was expecting something along those lines. This was more of a karaoke concert of Johnny Cash songs. I wanted a play about the life of Johnny Cash, with his songs in there that were written about the things he was going through. It was all cheesy musical- nothing that could be considered acting. What there was of a plot was convoluted, neither my husband nor myself could figure out who was who at any given moment. Johnny's voice/music is iconic this didn't even come close. The redeeming performers were the brunette, the old man who did the bass part on the" Egg Sucking Dog" song, & the stand up bass-Then again, maybe the second act was better- but we didn't stick around to find out
