How was your experience?
It was SO great and relaxing to get out of the city for a day. The gentle hum of the boat helped too. The views were fantastic and it helped that we went on a gorgeous day. The dock was flooded when we arrived which created difficult traversing for the elderly, but I'm adventurous so it was kinda fun navigating around the flood for me. There's a fairly decent incline up to the Oktoberfest which, again, most people did not expect and were perturbed about (it was stated there was a hill on the Goldstar AND the Circle Line sites), but my boyfriend and I said, "Bring it on!". The Oktoberfest itself was small and country-fair like and a HUGE breath of fresh air from crowded Manhattan. We slept on the boat on the way back due to the beer and awesome German fare (we dabbled in Spaten, Pierogies, Potato Pancakes, Bratwurst and Knockwurst). People were complaining the whole time about there only being 4 beers available, but it takes only 1 to have a good time!!! To me, the only down side to the trip were the fussy Manhattanhites...loosen up people!
