How was your experience?
My girlfriend and I went to this event on Sat. It was a really nice time; plenty of good wine to drink. Much more food than others had indicated from previous experiences. Many more people attnded than reviews from the past year or so; it was packed. You had to be very aggressive to get tastings, which I am fine with but my girlfriend was not. The roar of the crowd was very high, to the point it was difficult to carry on conversation with the wine makers. Good - Increased food vendors from prior year. Bad - Very long line to get in; there was no line differentiation between the main entrance and the will call line. To purchase a cigar you must have had the premium tickets. Way too many people jammed in one area to taste wine. I would go again in a heartbeat since I love wine. Knocked off one star for the line difficulty and another for crowdedness; removed another star for no layout to identify specific wineries. Added one star for great attitude/knowledge of winemakers and public transportation; note that the cheapest bottle of wine was around $12 or so. Suggestions for next year- fix the line into 2 lines: one will call. the other the main entrance. Take the public transportation, it was super easy. Wine makers to bring Port/dessert wine – only 1-2 vendors had it.
