Saturday November 20, 2010 / 10:30pmComic Strip Live: Saturday Night Laughs
How was your experience?
First of all, these are not America's funniest comedians. I might have had one authentic chuckle all night, but the majority of the acts just stood on stage and made fun of the people in the front row. Also, it's a really young crowd. I'd say very early twenties. Most of them were rowdy and one guy threw up all over himself. One thing worth pointing out is that if you book through Gold Star, you don't have to make separate reservations. I also use Living Social Deals and Groupon. After waiting in line about 10 min to speak to the hostess, I told her that booked my tickets online, but couldn't remember the site. She looked at my iphone's confirmation page and was like, "Ah, Living Social. Did you make a reservation? No? Well, we'll just put you on the waitlist then." So we stood around about twenty more minutes until she called my name, she took another look at my confirmation email and said, "Oh! Gold Star? You should have said something. You have a reservation. Sorry!" Then we were crammed aaaaall the way in the back, but at least we got a seat to watch the mediocre humor. Anyway, lesson learned. Two stars since the staff is actually pretty nice and the venue is cool too.
