How was your experience?
This is a tiny theatre and they held the curtain because some "special guests" were late, but once it started, it was very good. John Colella, who played Cyrano, was wonderful; he made the show. The rest of the cast was all good, Olivia D'Abo played Roxanne and was O.K., but she was not quite as lovely and special as this Cyrano deserves. The stage, as noted above, is quite small, and there was only one set, but director Rae Allen used the space to advantage; costumes were as simple and straighfoward as the set, but it all served the production well by letting this excellent Cyrano transport us through the magic of his words. I recommend this production to all fans of this play because of the confidence, variety and pleasure of John Colella's sparkling performance.
