How was your experience?
Great dancing, truly great music and musicians, but not great choreography or directing. By dressing all male and female dancers the same, and stressing uniformity by not allowing individual personalities to shine, the company looks perfectly trained, but without deeper human feeling. Tango is a dance of passion, ego, and human foibles, not a computer game or regimented military drill. If I dance, I want to communicate and touch my partner's heart and spirit, not only their mind. If I watch dance, I want to be touched by the dancers hearts and spirits, not only their immaculate technical skills.... The show was terrific, on one hand, but repetitious, sometimes boring, and dramatically poorly paced.... But, of course, I am very glad I saw it, for the best moments of the tango experience.
