How was your experience?
Not at all what I expected from the much hyped video's I watched and blogs I read. Thankfully I only paid half the ticket price as a result of a local deal. My girlfriend and I went for the first time to FIG in Dallas, TX. The bags were very skimpy, a book, a room spray, a couple packs of floss, sample aveeno lotion, tiger nail decals, a lip gloss and and a plastic bottle w/ instructions to make a cosmopolitan. The VERY few vendors they had were particularly over priced and it was just plain small. There was also no clear indicators as to where the event was held or how to get into the building. As we wondered the block so too did others asking, Are you trying to find Shecky's? The people working the event lacked knowledge, got a lot of "I don't knows...". I guess in a nut shell I would say it was a waste of my time and money. I am a decorator and have attended private (such as this) and public shopping events that were less money to attend, that just made this look very sad. There is actually an annual event in Dallas that is open to the public, $5.00 admission that must house 50 vendors and the prices are insanely doable. We had one drink, did an overview and were out within 45 minutes. So sorry for the negative feedback, but truly went anticipating something really rocking. Get more vendors, get more organized and do get better sponsors for your goody bags. I would have been definitely looking for some sort of refund or compensation if I had paid the full $30.00.
