How was your experience?
I admit to being a bit of a theatre snob and have found very few musicals over the past 25 years to be of good quality. The most important criteria for a good musical is good music - good songs. Mary Poppins nevertheless delivered on every front - music, songs, costumes, dancing, sets, acting, and the "spirit" of the original movie, which I haven't seen since its release in the 60s. I was pleasantly surprised how polished it is. So many road shows come to Boston and cut corners, presenting a mediocre show. I'm 58 years old, attended with my boyfriend (no kids), and we absolutely loved it. We also took the commuter rail to and from South Station - no traffic, no stress, no parking problems.
