How was your experience?
We had bought the cruise expecting it to be a bit warmer -- it was 78 when we bought the tickets, but near freezing on the actual day of the cruise. Still, the crew and employees were warm and cheerful and made for a pleasant experience. The cruise itself though was a bit of a let down. I had imagined the boat getting much closer to the monuments, especially the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials which are right on the water. But the cruise actually stops several hundred meters before the Arland D Williams Memorial bridge and turns back around. Thus, taking a picture of a memorial at night requires a camera I cannot afford. Had the weather been warmer, I can imagine this being a fun social event as there was a bar and cafe on the ship. But go into this thinking of it as a good time with friends rather than an opportunity to see tourist sites of DC.
