How was your experience?
This event was fun. The Alex is simply gorgeous and the staff was real nice and welcoming. My only concern is as a parent of a 5 year old. No food is allowed in the theater (understandably being historic) but being that it is a full-feature length film, kids cannot go that long without a snack at this time of day so as most people in the theater who I could hear crunching away, chips were sneaked into the theater. We don't like doing it but I think all the patrons were on the same page. Perhaps include a food component before the screening or allow popcorn (my daughter was expecting it so it was hard to let her down) and closed-containers of juice such as a juice box or sippy cup at minimum. If this cannot be accommodated, then perhaps include this info in the event description. Another thought is perhaps start the pre-film cartoon 15 minutes before the 2pm start time. Again, as a mother, we have to time the kid's eating schedule and grumpiness factor. Once it was 2pm, my daughter was ready for the feature film. Having the cartoon on while we are sitting in our seats waiting would have helped entertain my daughter while waiting. It's all about the timing as a mom (and the room was filled with kids so I know I'm not alone). Thanks!
