Friday April 29, 2011 / 3:30pmCirque Du Soleil's Quidam
How was your experience?
Quidam is definitely old school Cirque Du Soleil. The show depended on the pure talent, artisty, and strength of the artists and not flashy high tech special effects and gimmicky routines like many of the newer shows in Vegas (which are entertaining, but leave me wanting more circus acts and less dancing). This show is very entertaining if you can appreciate what the artists are doing. Everything they're doing is real and dangerous as evident in several of the minor mistakes seen in the performance I saw. Like true professionals, they just kept the show going. The audience participation was also hilarious and quite special. The only thing I didn't like was how the arena handled Goldstar Member tickets. I went to the 3:30 pm show on Friday thinking that not many people would attend so I would probably get better seats. I purchased the more expensive tickets for the lower bowl. The venue however seated Goldstar members on top and to the sides when the front (both side and center sections) and middle centered sections were completely empty. It's one thing to have less desirable seats if the event is very packed, but when the venue was barely 15% full, our seats were unacceptable. After the intermission, most of us migrated to better seats.
