How was your experience?
Let's face it, when you are working with Huck Finn you have a great foundation from which to work and Roger (King of the Road) Miller doesn't disappoint. This is the third time I have seen "Big River" and outside of the original Broadway version, this is the best. The production was well done and took full advantage of the unique configuration of the small, in-the-round, theater. The performances were notable, particularly the women who served as gospel backups. The one drawback is that the instrumental support was taped, giving this a sort of night at the karaoke feel to it, but you soon forget it. The theater is nestled in a district with a group of restaurants so it is an opportunity for a very nice evening.
