How was your experience?
This event was ok. My only major complaint was the level of disorganization when it opened. I paid for 2 VIP tickets which offered "front of line privileges" but upon arriving 30 minutes early, someone at the ticket table said there was only one line for everything... will call for general & VIP tickets and ticket purchase at the door. When the doors opened, it became even more chaotic. Whatever system they had did not work and was creating unfairness to many people who waited patiently in line. People started cutting and going up to the front and no one in charge put their foot down... instead they rewarded their unfairness by letting them in. From what I witnessed, people were getting VIP bags when they should have received General Admission bags, etc. The woman in charge of handing out the bags was the only volunteer I saw speak up about the chaos & confusion. She said it herself, she didn't know who was supposed to get a VIP bag or a regular bag. There was also no mention of door prizes and I arrived at 10:30 am. Perhaps the earlier birds got the door prizes... it would have been courteous to make an announcement or put a sign out. Once in... the vendors were very spread out making it look incomplete. I passed right by some vendors b'coz they did not have a noticeable "booth", just a desk and chair. There were about 5 non-food sample vendors (from my experience) and once you visited each booth, that was it. We spent an hour inside the bldg waiting for the seminar w/Tia to start simply b'coz there was nothing else to do. Aside from the downsides, purchasing a VIP ticket was worth it for the $100 Restaurant.com gift card (retail value $40), LA Guide (retail value $14.95), and Coupon Wallet (retail value $10). The ladies at the Coupon Wallet booth were generous enough to let me trade in the coupon wallet I received for a Deluxe Coupon Wallet and only pay the difference. The seminar with Tia was very informative and I learned a thing or two more about store policies and couponing. The sample food from Libertine's, The Stand, and Yozen Frogurt was all very delicious. However, I will most likely not be returning next year.
