How was your experience?
While not as tuneful as its musical godfathers "Little Shop of Horrors" or "Sweeney Todd," this campy, clever operetta has solid entertainment value -- our sold out audience roared their approval all night and gave a cheering standing ovation. Cast maneuvered well on the tiny stage thanks to very strong direction, and squirting blood across (and generally involving) the front row was clearly a highlight. My biggest complaint is that many scenes and songs end abruptly. Would love to see the writers find more solid, satisfying musical conclusions/transitions so the audience isn't left hanging with those awkward "Do I clap now?" moments. That kind of polish would raise this from "campy little freakshow" to something destined for wider audience. (And please cut the college fight song!)
