How was your experience?
I have heard the Romeros many times, both as a family when the father was alive, and as individuals, and think they are fantastic. However, in this case, the entire concert lasted less than two hours, and although I was extremely pleased that Angel played my favorite, "Concierto de Aranjuez," first, it was disappointing that he then started talking about what he likes to play LAST, so we (the audience) knew that he was probably only playing two pieces! Then we sat through the second half of not terribly exciting music hoping he'd reappear at least for an encore, but it didn't happen. We were there to hear him, and I suppose it's my own fault for not reviewing the program, but I am unable to see it in the dim venue lighting and don't have time during the break because I go to use the restroom and possibly get something to drink if there's time. I suppose I had a bad start because my friend couldn't attend so I ended up giving one of my tickets back to the ticket desk, so I actually paid $50 for the concert to hear two tunes by Angel. They were beautiful, but I left wishing for more of his beautiful playing.
