How was your experience?
A family member who had already seen the show wanted to go again and share it with me. Most of the performers were first rate in a production that spends its limited budget very wisely on some spectacular special effects. As a fun night out, it succeeds. As a stage musical, however, it as yet is only in the earliest stages of development. For example, most musical numbers end before the character is allowed to fully express the emotion which motivated the song. The production shows great promise, however, if it can continue to explore its stories unique qualities and mine them to greatest effect. The director achieves miracles in a small space with rapidfire scenes that flow quite logically together.
