How was your experience?
My husband & I have taken sails on the Hudson on other vessels. I have to say we were extremely disappointed with our experience on the Shearwater. There is no seating per se-there are limited surfaces to sit on if you are fortunate to board among the first 10-15 people. Otherwise your choices are to stand precariously, sit on the actual deck surface, or sit briefly on the cabin roof. In the last instance you are repeatedly requested to move and duck your head to avoid being hit by the boom. Consequently, we ended up alternately standing and bending over uncomfortably. At the end of the sail we were told to move out of the way by one crew member and then asked to take a seat by another. There were no seats and hadn't been any for us for the entire 90 minute cruise. On every other vessel we have taken there were benches along the sides of the boat for passengers. I think it should be made clear on the website at the time of purchase that there are no 'real seats' and you will be required to perch on limited surfaces, stand holding on to something, or sit on the deck.
