How was your experience?
As a local who lives in Nob Hill and gets around quite a bit by bike and foot, I found this mostly boring. The fun part was meeting other enthusiastic locals who dressed up. Unfortunately this was not capitalized. I had been by all the places on the tour the previous week in my normal ongoings. In trying to encompass all of San Francisco and put in worthy context, it came off as a series of bullet points disallowing any emotional connection. They had a lot of good music with the guide gamely singing along but never really played any long enough to get into a groove. It was odd and jarring to have the screens come up at City Lights without a feel of the neighborhood, and down to a reading by Jack Kerouac hanging out at Vesuvios and that's it. I think the multimedia idea is good but they need to narrow it down. If it aspires to the Summer of Love, keep it mostly in the Haight Ashbury and GG Park, allow some ambiance to develop and don't worry about over contextualizing. Make it more fun. Adult beverages would help. Only covering the conservatory of flowers in the park was a bit shallow. Drop Chinatown and North Beach. The funnest part was people watching on the streets as people turned to look at the multicolored bus with bubbles coming out the back, usually with a smile. As for guests, I think I'll just take them on my own.
