Wednesday August 17, 2011 / 6:00pm (The Tickled Pinks)LIVE @ 1220 Fifth
How was your experience?
A lovely three-hour evening of live retro-swing music well-hosted by the Museum of the City of New York, which also opened its doors to exhibits and a 22-minute film that you could see during band breaks. Our Goldstar entry came with a complimentary cocktail, proving more the size of two cocktails, and could be made to order. Very friendly staff, including the bartenders and "The Tickled Pinks" band and vocalists. One of the nicest features was the diverse age range, from 20s to 80s, who mixed on the dance floor (outdoor patio) as well. Only minor inconvenience was standing all night because some tables were reserved in advance by groups even though not all the chairs were filled. That said, I didn't notice any older people having to stand.
