How was your experience?
My family and I had a terrific time on our brunch buffet cruise one Sunday. Food was very good, particularly the freshly-made waffles, omelettes and fresh fruit, and the service was excellent. The boat, while not as fancy as the Odyssey and Spirit of Washington, is very clean and has a fun, old-time atmosphere, with a piano player providing very pleasant background music. And there's nothing like sitting on the open top deck on a beautiful day with the planes landing at National Airport and the monuments passing by. Heavenly. The only tiny surprise is when the bill comes. We paid for our tickets online, but we got a bill for $12 for fuel and $10 for DC tax (even though the boat leaves from Virginia) -- then you have three tip rates you can choose (%15, 20, 25) figured on the full price of your tickets (even if you paid a discounted fee), so for my party of four the tip was $36. But the service was very good and unobtrusive so it seemed fair enough, but it was a little jarring getting this at the end of a beautiful cruise. Overall, highly recommended, particularly for the older folks who like a "quieter, gentler cruise" than the more raucous ones that leave Maine Ave.
