How was your experience?
The great - This is like "the little theatre that could"! I appreciate all the hard work and heart that goes into every show. The good - The Velvet Kittens for the most part were great performers with surprisingly good acting. The bad - Exceptionally annoying characters played by exceptionally uneven actors. This was really disappointing. At least half of the humor centered around the one male character, who I believe was supposed to be slapstick vaudevillian, but was more like the annoying goofball in high school who made raunchy half-homophobic jokes. The awful - As someone else pointed out, there was a constant call for tips. This would have been fine once or twice, but passing the hat multiple times during both acts (including returning to people who had already given), and then pursuing people who had not offered up a tip **after the show was over** (!) was really uncalled for. I know that proceeds from all performances are shared among the actors, but that fact was not shared with the general audience, so it just felt like bullying for money.
