How was your experience?
This Gem & Jewelry show comes to Houston several times a year and is open to the general public. It is a huge even set up for those who enjoy making jewelry or for those looking to purchase completed pieces. If you plan to attend, plan to be there upwards of 3-4 hours walking from booth to booth. A pen and notepad would be handy so that you can make down pieces you would like to purchase and the price and booth number so that you can compare with other vender/booth prices prior to making a purchase. It is also helpful to have an idea of what you would like to purchase and what the cost is at a normal retail place so that you will know if you are getting a bargain or not. This Gem and Jewelry show has pieces ranging from $1 to upwards of $14,000.00. There are venders selling fashion jewelry, beads and strands of beads, jewelry making tools, quality high end jewelry, fine gems and stone, jewelry cleaners, scarves, high count sheet sets and a few other odd & ends. It is a decent show and worth attending once a year. There is also a section in the back for those with a tax identification number to get wholesale prices. Overall, the show is adequate but again, you need to know the retail price of items you wish to buy as not all the items are a bargain.
