How was your experience?
It is no wonder that James Dean is a legend. His depiction of the troubled teen was flawless. His portrayal of a "bad on the outside but really good" was deeply affecting. Most of the rest of the cast, except Sal Mineo who was superb as a tragic youth, was really camp & over-the-top, but amusing. The film is laughable where not intended to be because it is so dated, but it lends a certain charm to the 'innocent 50's'. Also a shout-out for the Alex Theatre - a beautiful, comfortable venue that warmly welcomes its film guests. Please support it!
