How was your experience?
My son and I attended How to Succeed and really enjoyed the production. The smaller than usual cast did a wonderful job with all the music and with choreography which seemed tailored to finding the best use of the Welk stage. The pricipal roles were well acted and beautifully sung. Finch and Rosemary were a delightful pair, well suited to one another. Bud Frump was a tad campy, but overall well played. The supporting roles of JB Biggley, Bratt and Twimble were all well played. Special standouts were Smitty, the golden-voiced, down-to-earth pal of Rosemary and the wonderfully sexy, Hedy LaRue. A couple of songs were cut from the show which served to shorten the show, but also shifted some of the production's focus from the romantic entanglements to the rivalry between Frump and Finch. The set served the production well (although the battleship grey was a bit drab) and the sound and lighting were near perfect!! All in all, a delightful evening of theatre I would highly recommend!
