How was your experience?
Been to the Oakland Yoshi's for dinner and a show so I have a lot to compare :) The food is wonderful at both locals, but the elegance of the SF restaurant was AMAZING!! Felt like I was in a fancy restaurant. There was a great band playing standards from the 40's and 50's to set the mood along with great lighting and comforting colors in the decor. A multisensory experience to be sure! The SF club leaves a little to be desired however. The show was terrific! The Gospel Hummingbirds put on a fun show with a nice mixture of familiar as well as original works. "Sweet Potato Pie" was my favorite! But a great show aside, the seating at SF is no where near as comfy as Oakland. The reserved seating up front was way to close and totally cramped. I went with my partner to have a romantic evening together and was nearly crammed in between four other couples sharing the same small table and space. We opted to sit in the general seating where the view was still up close and personal, the personal space was a little roomier and private. Service was prompt. Drinks good. Menu varied and reasonably priced. Sound and lighting as it should be for a musical venue. Only complaint is that the seating just isn't up to the high standards the rest of the venue sets for itself and guests... But I'd go back in a heartbeat and sit towards the rear.
