How was your experience?
Had to go through 4 different lines to even get into the venue. 1st line where they check IDs didn't offer any direction, so was followed by having to ask a waiter where to enter the 2nd will call line where after we got our tickets we could then find the 3rd parlor entrance line where after a while they led us to the 4th specific parlor door line where they took the tickets and finally sat us --- 40 minutes AFTER the show time was listed. Thankfully they didn't enforce the 2-drink minimum per person, so we just had 2 drinks between the 2 of us. Intro/commercials were loud and obnoxious, but our table-mates were pleasant. 1st opening act & the "host" was great and very funny. Charming Bostoner who got the crowd going very well I thought. 2nd opener was not that funny, but had kind of a Mitch Hedberg meets George Carlin old toker vibe that I can stand. Lastly, the main act, Ben Bailey. He started out alright and then spiraled into awful. The biggest pitfall of comedians is hecklers and drunk audience members. Ben obviously didn't know how to handle it. Both of his openers handled a drunk individual with relative ease. But Ben harped on and on, even after the person was removed by security. I know his standup tour was called "Road Rage" or something like that. But his comedy was not the funny "angry-guy" shtick of Lewis Black. It was very clearly a man who is bitter over the fact that he is only known for a lame reality game-show. Lots of people started leaving and getting restless long before the end of his act for good reason. Would never see him again.
