How was your experience?
Don't get me wrong, the music was fantastic, the energy of the fans was palpable, but the technical aspects of the evening left a lot to be desired. It started with an annoying popping sound from the speakers that sounded like a fire cracker going off. This continued throughout the performance and tended to break the spell of the beautiful orchestrations at the most inopportune times. Next, the concert started 45 minutes late with no appology or explanation, the crowd was patient, which is a testimony to the good nature of the fans as a whole. I found the MC and conductor a bit odd at times . . . or perhaps annoying is a better choice of word. The MC (who was named after Princess Zelda) gave nervous laughs and inaine prattle any time she was on stage. Tolerable, but not polished in any way. The conductor did a fine job of leading the orchestra, but seemed to feel it was necessary to constantly take bows. Despite the previously mentioned items, the music was the reason the audience came, and the music did not disappoint! The themes were majestic and sweeping. After the concert, many of the fans spoke of getting chills down their spine at their favorite tune. The only thing that would have made the music even better for me would be the inclusion of Epona's Theme. Overall the evening was enjoyable, and the fans went home with smiles on their faces and the music of Zelda in their hearts!
