How was your experience?
Well, it wasn't exactly the perfect day we had hoped for.... my husband and I were really excited to take the electric bikes we rented for a ride over the Golden Gate Bridge into Sausalito. I'm convinced the bikes Plugz loaned to us were their oldest ones as we came across other riders during the day that were on Plugz bikes in much better condition. Makes me think because we used a coupon we didn't get their top of the line bikes as promised. My bike worked perfectly, but my husband's bikes had problems. The first bike they gave him had a crack in the stem support, we made it about half a mile before the seat broke off completely. When we returned to the shop we were told we would need to pay to repair it. Their was tape around the seat bracket so obviously there had been issues with the seat. We were given another bike and on this one the "electric assist" only worked when he was in first gear. So he pretty much spent the day riding around on a really heavy bike. He would have been better off on a regular bike. When we returned to the shop we were asked to pay for the repair of the first bike even though our coupon said we had insurance coverage. There were two young adults running the shop and neither apologized for the inconveniences. My suggestion would be to really check out the bicycles and make sure they work properly before taking off for the day. For me it was great to zip by all the folks on regular bikes. Almost all riders on traditional bikes took the ferry back, we were able to ride both ways.
