How was your experience?
First, let me get the lousy stuff out of the way. I'll preface my comments with the fact that Goldstar's service has been nothing less than outstanding. But last evening, our assigned seats were separated; in fact, they weren't anywhere even near each other. Goldstar's FAQ states, "Will my group be seated together? For events with assigned seating, as long as you buy your seats in one transaction, they will be together." I did my order in one transaction and the seats weren't together. And that created a hassle with trying to trade with other patrons. We shouldn't have had to do that. It was our first experience with the Verizon Amphitheater, and it's truly a wonderful venue. We took a picnic dinner with us, and spread out on a picnic table on a big, grassy circle. You can also picnic in your seats, as the theater does have good seat pitch between yours and the ones in front of you. But the very friendly outdoor staff had suggested the grassy circle area so we went with that. A real delight. The Beethoven concert was fabulous; the Pacific Symphony is wonderful, and so was the piano soloist. We liked this venue better than the Hollywood bowl; the acoustics are far better since the amplification doesn't need to be as intense due to the smaller size of the Verizon theater. So you're hearing more of the real orchestra. The two, big TV monitors are better placed, too. Our seats were very good, and were as described and represented on Goldstar's website. Parking was $10; getting in was easy but quite miserable getting out because of the very slow flow. But I guess that's to be expected considering the theater holds 14,000 people. I think it was 80%-90% full last night. We do look forward to attending future events here, again with Goldstar's help!
