How was your experience?
The amount of time and talent going into this production is nothing short of amazing. I very much enjoyed it overall (with a few reservations; see below), and I took two 13-year-old girls with me who loved it as well. I verify that it is indeed a great spectacle for "children of all ages." However! The music was TOO LOUD, and the ringmaster as well. Another commenter suggested that he could "take it down a couple of notches," and I very much agree. It was a RELIEF to our EARS when the intermission started. In fact, at that point my niece said to me, "Why don't we just go home?" and so we left. I realize now that we missed some acts (dogs and cats performing, and a bunch of motorcyclists driving around inside a metal ball) that we would have appreciated, but the pounding in our ears of the prerecorded music was just too much. We'll return next year, IF we have some proof that Ringling/B&B has improved their treatment of their elephants. It was rather off-putting to be confronted by over 20 protestors, complete with fact sheets, on our way into the arena. I did some research afterwards and I discovered that Ringling/B&B was in fact cited a couple of years ago for mistreatment of elephants.
