How was your experience?
This was totally fun and our guide Liz was great. We toured through North Beach, Chinatown, and Fisherman's Wharf. Our guide showed us local spots we had not been to before and took pictures of everyone through out the tour. The one thing I would fix is that all of the segways for tours should be retrofitted with an emergency hand break. The segway does have a speed limiter and you apply the breaks on the segway by leaning backward. The problem with novice users is that the speed limiter pushes the handle bars towards you, which makes you feel like you are falling backward. The way to slow the segway down at this point is to lean backwards even farther, which can be scary because you already feel like you are falling backwards. We had a woman on our tour, unable to stop the segway when it hit its max speed, fly off her segway when she hit a parked car out of control. We got the impression that this was not an unusual occurrence on segway tours. An emergency hand break for out of control situations would help instead of insisting all riders become experts on segways in the 30 min training prior to the tour. Still, I loved the tour, but I did not fall off my segway.
