How was your experience?
This was a very long 90 min production, really should have had an intermission. The male lead in the show also wrote and directed the prodution and I think he may have taken on one too many roles. The main charactors are a jewish, diabetic Las Vegas "dancer" and a wealthy bald middle aged recently divorced New York song writer, who is looking for love in all the wrong places. He falls in love with the much younger dancer and is in denial that he wants her to love him back. She makes LOTS of money during the play (he makes numerous trips to Vegas) and is clear about her desire for a "business only" relationship. Somehow he "reaches her", they break down their emotional barriers and find love after all. Maybe I wasn't in a romantic mood that night but I just didn't buy their relationship, he is no Richard Gere. Set design was great, use of tv monitors to change location, very clever. I love the Ally Theater and plan to go to many of their productions. This one just didn't do it for me.
