How was your experience?

Clear I hated it I didn't like it It was OK I liked it I loved it!
My husband and I took our 7 year old and went with another couple and their 7 year old. We were expecting something really special considering it was a Russian production. But we all agreed it was a complete disappointment: flat, uninspired and downright boring. It's as if the dancers were just phoning it in. We got tickets to the added 4 p.m. performance on Friday 12/14 and it felt like the dancers were either just too tired to do this extra performance or resentful that they had to do it. There were nice moments, to be sure, but a local production I saw at The Alex Theatre in Glendale a couple of years ago was MUCH better. In the Russian production there were touches added for humor and to appeal to the children of giant animals poking their heads in from the wings and dancing around in the background while the dancers were dancing their solos --- if I were the dancers I would have hated that and I hated it as an audience member --- it was upstaging and distracting. Everything about the performance we saw was flat. I wanted to love it, but I didn't.

Help others enjoy a great night out

Info
Yep, I agree, it felt like the audience had never been to the theatre or a ballet before.
Info
Parking was a pain and when we finally found some, very expensive.
Info
Providing popcorn and pizza to eat in the theatre at the ballet was so weird and felt so wrong!
