How was your experience?
Scott Parkinson's performance was mesmerizing. This is no mere recitation of The Iliad (or parts of it), but rather a retelling in contemporary speech of many of the most critical parts of the story. The beauty of the adaptation is the way it makes the story universal, acknowledging the millenia-long history of war, and the humanity of the warriors, without beating us over the head. The sadness of war comes through in the narrator's pain in telling the story. The tiniest details from this ancient story come alive as if they were photographs in tomorrow's newspaper. A must-see experience.
