How was your experience?
I must write at the outset that Savion Glover is amazing, and I would go to any one of his shows again in a heartbeat. Here's why this event gets a poor rating from me. The seating in the balcony was essentially obstructed view seating. To fully appreciate Mr. Glover and his amazing skills, you need to be able to see him and, more importantly, his feet. In this show, he does not move around the stage, but rather stays on top of a small platform at the center of the stage throughout. I could only see the dancing if I craned my head to one side and caught glimpses of it between other people's heads. I could hear the rapid rate of his tap dancing, and the amazing rhythms it produced, yet could not see a darn thing for most of the evening. I was so looking forward to this event, but the huge venue and its balcony seating was all wrong for this particular show.
