How was your experience?
I attended a Wednesday matinee performance of this Amy Herzog play, and I would recommend it to others. Good acting all around, but, as Grandma Vera, Susan Blommaert's portrayal was wonderful. The essence of the characters is captured quickly in this short 90-minute performance. The dialogue is witty and humorous, yet I found myself tearing up as Leo (Reggie Gowland) opens himself up, and transforms in the loving and watchful eyes of his Grandma Vera. The Kansas event that was presented seemed a bit far-reaching, however I found myself leaving the theatre and remembering the good times I shared decades ago with my long-departed Bubba. It's a good thing.
