How was your experience?
Adapting the tv show as a comic play works really well. The whole audience cracked up non stop, as we did. We definitely want to see it again, particularly since they announced that they are preparing new episodes for May. What we saw were two episodes. For the text, it's pretty much the tv show, but it's way funnier because the rendition is so campy, super exaggerated to ironize on the characters, the cliches of tv format, and sometimes the actresses. The result is absolutely packed with comic effects. We hadn't seen the whole series so we probably missed some of the jokes. But even with that, I laughed and smiled so much that I noticed my cheeks hurting. It was very much worth it. Our favorite and very much worth a special mention was the actor playing Samantha who had fantastic comic body language, and used it to extend laughter on and on after each line, and even to add visual jokes as others said their lines. Very funny! We were told his name was Steven LeMay (spelling?) and that he was replacing the director temporarily. But they're thinking about having him play Carrie in the next episodes. I smile already imagining that.
