How was your experience?
I loved it! My first time, and although I couldn't afford most of the designer pieces, I wandered stall to stall just to admire everything--it's like a fashion museum. The good: There were furs, pride-and-prejudice period costumes, high fashion labels, whimsical headpieces, accessories (hand beaded bags, intricate jewelry, etc --so beautiful and lovingly crafted. A true art form!). As for the crowd: some really rockabilly-chic attendees; shopkeepers are nice and friendly (in turn, one gotta be respectful and careful when rummaging through the racks!). The sad/smelly: Some people? or stuff? smelled like armpits! Also, I regret not splurging for a sheer crepe floral dress that was evocative of the '12 Valentino collection :[ I ended up getting 2 dresses at an unnamed stall; one was a cream-colored long sleeve beauty with a demure, lacey bodice and drapey, viscose bottom -- it makes me feel like Grace Kelly AND it was an absolute steal at $20! (you gotta bargain btw). Overall, I'm really glad I went and definitely look forward to next year's event.
