How was your experience?
Ugh! I felt stuck for what seemed like more than the 81 hours the delivery guy was stuck in the elevator. I work in this industry and hate to give bad reviews, but honestly I was struggling at the end to come up with a lot of niceties to say about it. There was some nice stage craft incorporating the elevator. I had no idea until the end that there were actually live musicians playing. The audio quality made it sound like it had been pre-recorded and not that well. The actors were all talented, but I felt like there was not a whole lot they could do with the material. The music, nor the libretto were very inspired, nor did I feel like it shed some new light on illegal immigrants place in society, unless you are someone who finds this new and revelatory. Once again I am disappointed with ACT. I keep coming back, hoping they will rise to what they are capable of. I see many independent productions that are working with a fraction of the budget ACT has and they often rise heads and shoulders above. I hope Arcadia and Black Watch will help restore my faith in ACT's capabilities.
