How was your experience?
I usually LOVE this part with GoldStar. And I love to review the shows I see in detail. All I can say about this show is BORING & BAD. I knew from the opening number that it was going to be all downhill - which it was. It combines a little West Side Story, Grease and a West End Show called Summer Holiday - and it does it very poorly. The cast seemed lifelist, the book was stupid, and changing opening night from June 19 will not give this show any time to fix anyything - which is everything! The finale curtain call was dumb as we sat there and just asked "why". Why this show got the rights to this "Downtown", yet Priscillia, Queen of the Dessert had to drop it as an openner when it transferred from London to Broadway & Touring is confusing. This show wants to be a "juke box" musical and fails in every aspect. Save your money and play cd's of the original recordings from the 60's. Oh, and if still insist on going, know once the show starts and you see how bad it is and are polite enough to wait to leave intermission to leave - don't bother cause there isn't one. It's not announced, it's only printed in the programme.
