How was your experience?
I like Michael Hollinger's plays-- this is the fourth I've seen. This one is more poignant than funny; but shows the same masterful storytelling construction, with some suspense building toward the end, and good character development. The acting is superb for all actors; the lead actress seemed a bit rushed in the beginning soliloguy, but after that short initial period, was fully in the role, pausing appropriately, really communicating what it was like to be a headstrong, smart woman in the bygone era- irritation with acceptance, and anticipation of better things to come. It was an excellent evening.
