How was your experience?
Like the idea of a concert, in fact I wish it were more of a concert and not a "recap" of the movie. However, from the PR, I thought this would be more professional, but it was just a bunch of Rocky fans singing including some that I think normally act out the movie in front of a screen (as opposed to having had auditions for real performers/singers). And what the hell was that strange Euro-pop version of "I'm Going Home" that the America's Got Talent guy was screeching to a karaoke track all of a sudden? Very out of place. The evening was community-theatre level quality (in fact I've seen better productions of TRHS at community theatres). The band was out of balance badly; all one could hear are drums and bass with a bit of keyboard. The reed and guitar players were buried. BUT, I think it was the first time many in the audience heard the songs live (they only seemed to know the movie, I doubt many of them have seen the show live on stage) so that was cool, it was nice meeting Patricia Quinn and hearing her talk, and a good time was had by all, so I really can't complain.
