How was your experience?
I've seen "Millie" several times, including the original production on Broadway and the touring company at the Ahmanson. I've also seen a few smaller theater productions. For the most part, as long as you keep your expectations reasonable, you will enjoy this production. The singing was fairly good throughout the cast (note that this production is double cast; I can only comment on the performers I saw.) However, some of the acting was a little problematic. Many of the funny lines went over like a lead balloon, and I blame that mostly on the delivery. Other issues: the recorded music track was MUCH too loud, obliterating many of the lyrics. The theater was a little on the warm side (this was at a Sunday matinée when the temperature outside was in the 80s.) Also, the intermission was FAR too long -- well over 30 minutes, with no explanation to the audience for the delay. Overall, I enjoyed the show, but don't expect perfection.
