How was your experience?
The cast was great, and the music, story, and concept fit into the Scooby Doo genre. However, the price was only acceptable via Goldstar. I think that I would have been pretty annoyed had I paid the full price. The show probably would have been better priced if it was booked into a less pretentious theatre. This was a fine show for kids! Mine was older and had a great time, but my friend's child was scared of the ghost, so that might be an issue with some younger ones. As to the newly christened Dolby Theatre, I will only pick and choose events that I really want to go to there from now on, as I found a lot of the staff to be exceedingly rude and overbearing. Yes, this happened. A burly security guard dressed in intimidating black suit as he swooped in after seeing a mom taking a picture of her two kids IN THEIR SEATS, FACING AWAY FROM THE STAGE BEFORE THE SHOW BEGAN: "If you don't put that camera away and delete that picture, I will personally throw all of you out, and laugh all the way down the isle while I do it." Are you kidding me??? I get if the show is compromised by people taking pictures of the set, or during the performance, or stupid people taking flash photos, but a pic of the kids? And that kind of a reaction at a Scooby Doo show? The burly security guards were roaming everywhere as if the half-sold audience of kids and their parents were planning some nefarious undertaking. Made me feel not secure but very uncomfortable, IMHO.
