How was your experience?
A solid production. Act I actually started out pretty dull... I couldn't stand Rebekah Brockman's 13-year-old Thomasina, but in Act II she was fantastic. Nick Gabriel, who stole the show as Miss Leighton in "Once in a Lifetime" and gave a solid dramatic performance in "Scorched," here fell flat as Captain Brice (a secondary character). All other actors were great—not amazing, but perfectly enjoyable. I particularly felt Andy Murray brought the character of Bernard to life; his delivery matched the content perfectly. "Arcadia" is a complex piece of literature, and this adaptation brings the play to life in a way that respects those layers of complexity... nothing more. Nothing more is needed.
