How was your experience?
Overall, we had a great time. We took the purple line which drops you off right across the street from the Wiltern. There was a little confusion in that the Goldstar tickets said that the show started at 8pm and the Wiltern website said 7 pm. We got there around 8:30 which was perfect. Unlike other reviews I read, there was no long line at will call or line to get in to the general admission area. Quite the opposite actually. The lobby was filled with people milling around, sitting on steps, etc, waiting for White Hills to end. They were not very popular. There are a lot of bars in the lobby and inside the auditorium which ensured quick moving lines for drinks. The Cult came on at 10 pm. Ian sounded better than I expected and Billy and the rest of the band rocked it. Some of the songs felt too slow and you had to wait a minute to figure out what song they were playing, but again, I have to say I loved it and had a great time. It can be difficult to see in the GA area as the stage is at eye level with the standing area. I had a neck ache for a day after straining to see inbetween the heads in front of me. The crowd was enthusiastic, but not crazy...although I couldn't see a thing in the pit, so not sure what was going on in there. Thank you Gold Star for making the ticket pick up process easy and offering a great show at a great price.
