How was your experience?
Went to a preview performance on 05/28, and it was enjoyable. Some of the singing voices were a bit off tonight, but it didn't completely mar the show. Outstanding were the actors that played Annie, Walter, and Jonah (that kid has an amazing voice - I hope he becomes famous one day!). I was especially glad that I got to see Spencer Liff stand in for the actor that plays the character Rob. His scene with Jonah was 90's awesome. :-) The musical captured the heart of the movie that I love so much. But what was missing was the old classic songs that really was its own character in the movie ("Kiss to Build a Dream On," Wink & A Smile," "Back in the Saddle Again," "When I Fall in Love," etc.). I know they had to build an original score, but it was your basic Broadway melody that we've heard in other shows. However, with that being said, I would still say it's worth seeing, especially for the young actor who plays Jonah.
