How was your experience?
Belleville is an emotionally demanding play. You will be provoked when you see it. It is not a feel good, escapist evening to be sure, but more of an emotionally taxing and thought provoking, " ok what do I do with that" kind of evening. You will be watching two people unravel as they progressively are forced to confront the truth of their lives. This unraveling creates increasing tension until the final act. If you like to discuss and dissect plays afterward, this one provides plenty of material. Belleville's two main actors do a good job throwing themselves into their demanding roles. The set supports the actors well and the venue is right for the intimacy of this play.
